Data Deletion
Last updated: July 17, 2026
This page explains how to delete data associated with Seal, the mobile application for Grain Patch by Kyoto Makotoya.
Delete it yourself, from the app
In most cases you do not need to contact us. When you write Words or a Contact to a Grain Patch, only encrypted data is stored on our server. You can delete it at any time using the delete function inside the Seal app. Upon deletion, all associated data is permanently removed from our servers.
What we hold
- Words and Contact — stored on our server as encrypted data only (ciphertext, initialization vector, authentication tag, schema version, and algorithm identifier). The key that decrypts it is embedded only in the NFC tag itself and never reaches our server, so no one — including Kyoto Makotoya — can read the contents.
- Link and Location — written directly to the NFC tag. Nothing is sent to or stored on our server.
- No account is required. The app does not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information.
Request deletion by email
If you are unable to use the delete function in the app, please contact us and we will help you remove the data associated with your patch.
